Yvonne McLean, the owner of Strategic Direction Consulting Ltd, is an experienced, formally trained Executive Coach and facilitator, specialising in leadership development. She is also the Programme Director for the New Zealand Global Women, Women in Leadership Initiative.
With a wealth of top level experience in law and the corporate world, she understands about high achievement, how organisations work and the pressures that individuals within those organisations experience. Her objective as a coach is to grow the individual and guide them towards achieving their successful outcomes.

Career and Business Experience:
- A lawyer for 22 years
- Yvonne worked at two leading UK law firms based in the City of London: Linklaters and Richards Butler (now Reed Smith LLP -one of the largest law firms in the world)
- Senior Intellectual Property Litigation solicitor at Russell McVeagh and Chapman Tripp, NZ
- 7 .5 years as lead lawyer for Microsoft Limited in the UK, and as a member of Microsoft UK's Executive Management team.
- On her return to NZ in 2003, Yvonne decided to make a career change and retrained as an Executive Coach
- Established her Executive Coaching and Leadership Training Business, Strategic Direction Consulting Ltd
- Currently Yvonne is also the Programme Director for the New Zealand Global Women, Women in Leadership initiative

Yvonne has a relaxed and empathetic coaching style, while she is also not afraid to challenge her clients whenever necessary. She enjoys facing challenges and knows what is takes to step out of her own comfort zones. She is very adaptable and happy to embrace change. With several years experience as an Executive Coach, she has been involved in working with individuals and teams of people from all ages and backgrounds, ranging from middle to Senior Executive management in large corporation and individual professionals and entrepeneurs. Her particular background in law has meant a specific interest in coaching lawyers and within law firms as well as with general businesses and management teams.
Yvonne is fully committed to delivering a professional coaching and leadership development service to her clients. She believes in having high professional and ethical standards. to this end, she has joined the International Coach Federation and is pursuing its credentialing path. She subscribes to the ICF Code of Ethics.
